We are now actively looking for a Dispatcher M/W to join our dutch team and develop the activity within our pure road transport agency in Rotterdam.
SKILLS REQUIRED :
- Experience in a similar position in a land transport agency.
- Significant skill in setting up driver + charter schedules
- Ability to build and follow schedules on a volume of about 15 drivers / day
- Manage short and long distance in parallel
- Experience in land transport of sea containers would be a plus
- German and english speaking skills are automatically required
JOB DESCRIPTION :
Our futur Dispatcher M/W will be responsible for managing the organization of road transport : carries out and keeps schedules.
He will manage the relationship with the drivers and the subcontracting carriers in order to organize the transport of containers, at the regional level (pre-post train routing) and national (100% road), by road.
He / She thus :
- Seeks solutions to satisfy customer requests
- Charters routes to subcontractors, ensuring fairness between the subcontractors in its portfolio
- Organises routes/plannings, always ensuring that loaded trucks run as smoothly as possible
- Draws up schedules for HGV drivers
- Adapts routes and drivers' schedules according to unforeseen circumstances
- Prepares and checks feasibility and rates according to the type of transport and the customer
- Manages the entire customer/subcontractor relationship (from order taking to invoicing)
- Monitors and analyse profits and costs to adapt planning activity if necessary and to ensure that individual and collective objectives are met
- Develops the portfolio by seeking out new road subcontractors.
